Galvanized Low Carbon Steel wire: 
Low cost, rust resistance, operating in temperatures up to 300 deg C, but at 180 deg galvanization coating layer flaking will occur.
 
High Carbon Steel wire: 
Temperatures of 180 to 450 deg C, greater abrasion resistance than galvanized steel.
 
430 Stainless Steel
Temperatures up to 700 deg C, although corrosive resistance may occur at 520 deg C.

304 Stainless Steel wire: 
Temperatures up to 600 deg C, although corrosive resistance may occur at 420 deg C.
 
316 Stainless Steel wire: 
More resistant than 304 in sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Greater resistance to corrosion than 304 Stainless Steel.

310 Stainless Steel wire: 
More resistant than 304 and 316 in sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Temperatures up to 1200 deg C
